Paintings
All of my work is a reflection of my surroundings and how they connect with my own inner space. The relationships of shapes and colors, the structure holding them together, is as important as the subjects. As I live in the North Woods, each image in my painting is somehow a part of my life here, and the composition, which results from the dialogue of working, listening, responding to the work in process, is directly connected to the inner structure of my life and spirit. I continue to be concerned for the safety of animals. Sometimes I have tried to paint them into a refuge place.
Because I have developed an allergy to oil paint, my new work is all water media on paper and panels. The work in this section is all in collections, with the exception of Garden and Ladder, my first after giving up oil paint.
